The 2008 Oklahoma Flute Festival would like to invite all flute maker's
to enter their work into our flute maker’s competition. Held at
Cherokee Heritage Center in Park Hill, OK. This competition is
open to everyone who makes a Native American or Native American Style
Flute.
1.
Flutes must be handmade by the artist.
Any flutes entered falsely, artist will not be asked back to future
flute festivals and flute will be immediately removed from competition.
2. Flutes must be made of natural materials, such as wood, cane, or
clay. (PVC will not be allowed!)
3. Competition is open to everyone and the artist must present flutes
in person.
4. Flutes must accompany entry form signed by flutemaker(s) of flute(s)
being entered.

5. For purposes of competition all flutes must be of Native North
American or Native North American Style Flutes.
6. Any identifying maker marks, or signatures must be completely
covered and out of judges sight.
7. Because of the vast array of creative styles in flute making any
number of finger holes are allowed, and there is no theme this
year. Anything goes!
8. Flutes being entered into the flute maker’s competition must have
been created within the past 12 months.
9. Judges and festival Coordinators cannot enter flute makers
competition.
10. Collaborative flutes accepted with permission of all artists
involved in making those flutes. All artists collaborating must
present flute(s) in person, and all artists involved must sign entry
form.

Flutes will be judged on: craftsmanship, sound quality, quality of
materials, and creative design.
2. All flutes will compete together, there are no divisions.
3. The judges’ decision is final!
4. Judges will remain anaymous until judging is competed.
